The Twin Lakes area is one of the most beautiful spots in Colorado. It is located near the junction of Highway 24 and Highway 82, at the foot of Mount Elbert (Colorado’s Highest Peak). Views include the Twin Lakes, Mt. Elbert, Mt. Massive, La Plata Peak, Twin Peaks, Mt. Hope, the Arkansas Valley and the Mosquito Range. The lakes and surrounding area are perfect for boating, fishing, camping, hiking, rafting, kayaking, bicycling and sightseeing.
In the summer Aspen is only 45 minutes away via Independence Pass. Vail is about an hour drive north by way of Tennessee Pass and Camp Hale. The historic town of Leadville is the closest town for shopping and is about 20 minutes away. Just a few miles south, the Buena Vista area offers shopping, dining and hot springs.
